✝️TEXT: 1John 5: 1-5(NKJV)
5:1. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
5:2. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
5:3. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
5:4. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.
5:5. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
✝️ STUDY: The world wants us to be shaped by it but the Bible says,“Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould (Rom. 12: 2a; Phillips). The antidote is to be born of God and to remain in Him. Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith (1 John 5: 4; Message). Faith is the key to our victory and this faith isthe confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see (Heb. 11: 1; New Living Translation). It was faith that enabled Moses to divide the Red Sea; through the same faith, the wall of Jericho crumbled before Joshua.The threat the world presents to us today – moral depravity, sicknesses, worry and anxiety, poverty and fear – can be confronted by faith in God. Faith magnifies our God and presents Him as incomparable to every challenges of life, bringing them to their knees. How can we stir up the faith that assures of victory? Simple: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10: 17). Treasure the word of God and allow it to rule your life. Then, your victory is guaranteed by faith. The Just shall live by faith.
