TWELFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY
 Date: Aug 27, 2023
Sub Theme: Manifesting Spiritual fruits 8
 Topic: Meekness
Text:
Tit 3:1-7
 Aims
to study meekness from the biblical point of view.
to expatiate on the gains of meekness
 Introduction
Meekness is one of the fruit of the spirit and it means mild, gentle or humble. Our Bible passage today explains that a meek person submits to authority; puts his power or fame under constraint; and at the same time is humble. Meekness is not weakness, but exercising strength under control, demonstrating power without undue harshness but acting boldly when we sense injustice or ungodly act. The meek relates the good news of the kingdom of God with the strong, the weak, the poor and the rich without prejudice.
 Study Guide
Differentiate between being meek and being weak with the examples of Moses and Aaron in Num 12:2-3 and Exod 32:1-4.
How can we live a life of meekness? Gen. 13:7-9; 2Tim. 2:24-25; Tit 3:1-2.
What is the adverse effect of life without meekness? Num 12:1, Num 12:9-10; 2Cor. 12:20.
What are the benefits of living a meek life? Ps.22:26; Ps 25:9; Ps 69:32; Ps 149:4; Isa. 29:19.
 Conclusion
As Christians, let us continuously strive to be meek by total dependence on God for our spiritual and physical growth. This will in turn develop us more as pilgrims of the heavenly Kingdom.
 Food for Thought
PILGRIMS TO HEAVENLY KINGDOM are to be meek but never weak on godly virtues.
 Memory Verse
Psa 22:26 “The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever”.
