Aims
to expose the attitudes of a sanctimonious believer and
to discuss the menace on the path of pilgrims to the Kingdom of God.
Introduction
Sanctimony in the religious sense is making a hypocritical show of religious devotion, piety and righteousness. A sanctimonious person is someone who always goes on and on about how he does things by priding himself as the best. It is a form of holier-than-thou attitude and a feeling of self-righteousness. They pride in the name of a particular denomination, pastor and founder above loyalty to God. Our Lord Jesus Christ condemned such attitude in the Pharisees’ life in today’s Bible passage.

From the Bible passage today, mention some of the attitudes of a sanctimonious person. Compare with Luke 15:16

Conclusion
Sanctimonious believers always talk about themselves above Christ, the only gateway to heaven. Their loyalty to human institution and personality will make them enemies of God and thus throw them off the track towards eternal bliss. Therefore, run from sanctimonious track.
