Aims
to understand that we ought to show mercy to others just as we receive mercy from God.
to examine the essence of showing mercy in the society and God’s kingdom on earth.
Introduction
Mercy, the topic of today, is the combination of compassion and forgiveness. The parable in today’s text is all about the king who forgave and showed mercy on his servant who owed him. Unfortunately, the servant who had been forgiven vehemently refused to show mercy to his fellow servant thereby making his own issue and debt to be revisited. Our Christian livelihood must always manifest mercy as our Father in heaven is merciful (Luk. 6:36).

Conclusion
We do ourselves more good when we show mercy to others. To live in an environment of mercy is to live in an atmosphere of peace, healing and growth. Mercy is needed to save and win the world for Christ.
