His Grace, The Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, Ph.D., the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop, Diocese of Awka, yesterday said government at all levels in Nigeria have failed the expectations of the people.
Delivering his sermon to mark the 34th Awka Diocesan Women’s conference (ADWOC) Sunday service, at All Saints’ Church Ukpo, Archbishop Ibezim enjoined government at all levels to sit up and render services to the people.
Archbishop Ibezim reiterated the need for the Church not to fail the masses being the last hope remaining.
He maintained that the problem of Nigeria today is because a good majority of our people have relegated the headship of God to the background. He, therefore, appealed to Christians to keep away from fighting God’s battle, for the battle is His.
www.odogwublog.com reports informed that Archbishop Ibezim reminded Christians that God’s glory can’t be shared with any human no matter how highly placed, reiterating that God will always elevate those faithful to His calling.
He frowned at the preponderance of fake leaders in the society even in the church but took consolation that God is interested in the testimony one share about His great exploits in his or her life.
He enjoined Christians to stop limiting God and stop behaving like cowards in the face of opposition, persecution, and obstacles of life for God in them is greater than their fears and worries.
He encouraged women to be prayerful to enable them to support and direct aright the steps of their husbands and family members always.
He further asked women to be unshakable at all times no matter the situation for they are apples in God’s own eyes as God watches over them and neither sleeps nor slumbers.
He advocated for Ernest prayers, shunning a life of complains blame talks, worrying, and particularly blaming God rather than be thankful always for God’s glory to manifest.
He charged women to be firm in their faith in God despite life challenges since only they could rescue the society from governmental neglect.
In her speech, the Governor’s wife, Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) represented by the former chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, (PPSSC), Lady Joy Ulasi urged women to continue to pray and support their husbands and leadership of the church at all circumstances beneficial to the family and society.
While warning against negligence on part of mothers to avoid rape under their nose, Lady Ulasi tasked women to be alive to their responsibilities in nurturing and molding their children, lamenting the ugly stories of rape in the society.
She urged mothers to double their efforts in ensuring that sanity is restored at home, church, and society.
Appreciating her guests at the ADWOC Ukpo 2020, the President, Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild and Girl’s Guild Province of the Niger and diocese of Awka, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim (Nneoma) announced that ADWOC 2021 will be hosted by Aguluzuigbo Anglican community Anaocha Local Government Area and thanked her husband, Archbishop Ibezim for his daily patronly support to the affairs of Awka Diocesan women.
