Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued at least four kidnapped victims and destroyed bandits’ camps in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, Lt-Col. Musa Yahaya, made the disclosure in a statement issued on Wednesday night. The Federal Government through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has given digital money lenders five days to prove they are operating within its set guidelines. It also asked Google to remove 18 digital lenders from Playstore for violations of its guidelines. According to the FCCPC, compliance with its guidelines was now mandatory, and failure to do so was a violation of the law. France will begin evacuating its nationals from Niger on Tuesday, the foreign ministry said, after a coup last week toppled the country’s pro-Western leader. The decision to move citizens out was prompted by attacks on the French embassy in Niamey, and the closure of Niger’s airspace which made regular departures impossible, the ministry said in a statement. France had earlier on Tuesday said that it was preparing an evacuation “in the face of a deteriorating security situation in Niamey” but gave no timeframe.
