The Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday began the disbursement of old naira notes to Deposit Money Banks as government authorities stepped up efforts to end the biting currency scarcity that has inflicted pain on millions of bank customers nationwide. Youths of Uso Community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State took to the streets on Friday to protest the kidnap of two residents by bandits. It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped along the Akure-Owo Expressway and taken into the forest. A source stated that three persons were initially abducted but one escaped. Security agencies have vowed to prosecute no fewer than 203 electoral offenders who were arrested in 20 states during the just concluded general election. Police commands in the states and other security agencies told News correspondent on Thursday that the suspects would face trial after investigations. The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has set aside the decision of the Osun State Governorship Tribunal and has upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor of the state. The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed the sum of N722.677 billion to the Federal, States and Local Governments from Federation revenue for the month of February.
