The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has sacked the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, from his seat as the member representing Ningi Central Constituency in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The appellate court in its judgment on Friday ordered for a rerun in 10 polling units in the constituency. The Chairman of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Osun State Chapter, Oluwagbemiga Olakunle Eludire has said the union is only fighting for the rights of its members. Eludire, who said that the strike would continue till directives to the contrary, added that the union was not fighting the state’s embattled Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has warned Nigerians against patronizing fake online stores ahead of the customary seasonal sales, known as ‘Black Friday’. Babatunde Irukera, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of FCCPC disclosed this in an advisory statement on Thursday. According to Irukera, the Commission foresees a 135 percent rise in fake online stores. The Jigawa State Police Command says it arrested four suspected kidnappers and a firearms manufacturer. The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday. He explained that the arrests were made through a joint operation by the police and local vigilante groups. The naira fell, on Thursday, to N956/$ on the official Investor and Exporter forex window as dollar supply declined by 46.77 per cent. This is a 13.78 per cent decline from the N840.53/$ the naira closed trading on Wednesday according to data from the FMDQ Securities Exchange. Also, the turnover of dollars traded in the market fell to $105.50m from $198.21m on Wednesday.
