India will overtake China as the world’s most populous country in the coming week, hitting almost 1.43 billion people, the United Nations said Monday. “By the end of this month, India’s population is expected to reach 1,425,775,850 people, matching and then surpassing the population of mainland China,” the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs said. A team of British troops have flown into a port town in the East of Sudan on a reconnaissance mission as the United Kingdom government weighs available options to evacuate British nationals stranded in the crisis-hit country, most prominently its capital, Khartoum. The soldiers landed at Port Sudan, on the Red Sea on Monday, according to a Daily Mail report. This, however, does not mean a rescue is imminent.
