The Presidential Election Petition Court on Tuesday released the timetable for the hearing of petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party and Allied Peoples Movement seeking to invalidate the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in the February 25 election. Health Workers on Wednesday protested in the Federal Capital Territory with a threat to embark on an indefinite strike from midnight if the Federal Government fails to meet their demands. The workers under the umbrella of the Joint Health Workers’ Union are demanding the payment of hazard allowance, an adjustment in the Consolidated Health Salary Structure as done with Consolidated Medical Salary Structure. The Federal Government has agreed to stop deductions from the state governments’ accounts in order to meet the Local Government Councils London/Paris Club obligations. The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, disclosed this while briefing governors across the 36 states in a meeting held on Tuesday night. There was panic in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Tuesday as about 35 pupils of Fakunle Comprehensive School, Osogbo, were hospitalized after inhaling teargas fired by some riot policemen. The pupils who became unconscious after inhaling the teargas were rushed to two different hospitals for urgent medical attention. The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Wednesday, said he has forgiven the President, H.E. Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR). Ortom disclosed this while responding to questions on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show Ortom had criticized the presidency for blaming his administration for the killings in the state.
