The Police Command in Ekiti says the discrete investigation and serious manhunt have been launched to track those behind the alleged shooting at a commercial vehicle on Iju road in Ondo State on Saturday. Security agencies foiled attempts by bandits to abduct students from the Government Secondary Science School (GSSS) Ikara, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State, only three days after the abduction of 39 students from the Federal School of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, Kaduna. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit asking the Federal High Court in Abuja to stop President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government from borrowing an estimated N895bn of Nigerians’ money. SERAP said the government was targeting unclaimed dividends and balances in dormant accounts, “under the guise of the patently unlawful, unconstitutional and discriminatory legislation known as the Finance Act, 2020″. Gunmen have attacked the Safer Highways base of the Nigerian Police in Nabordo, Toro Local Government Area, killing two persons. The Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident to Channels Television on Sunday via a telephone interview.
