Text: Ruth 4:13-15

4:13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and when he went in to her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bore a son.

4:14  Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a close relative; and may his name be famous in Israel!

4:15   And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”

STUDY:

Naomi left Bethlehem-Judah for Moab in search of greener pastures, not knowing what would befall her there. She lost her husband and sons in the course of dwelling in Moab, returned in bitterness, and changed her name to ‘Mara.’ Before her return to her homeland, out of hopelessness, she discouraged her two daughters in-law from following her. Ruth, being one of them, vowed to go with her. Boaz the kinsman redeemer of Naomi came into the picture, married Ruth and raised a son who was referred to as ‘restorer of thy life’, and a ‘nourisher of thine old age.’
Sometimes in life, circumstances throw at us bitter moments. Such moments come with hopelessness and helplessness. Ruth made a personal decision, then vowed to Naomi, “… your God shall be my God….”Because of her decision to make the God of heaven her God, a kinsman redeemer was provided for their restoration through her. Jesus Christ is our kinsman Redeemer. He is available for our restoration from discouragement in life. “In Him was life; and the life was the light of men”(John 1:4). Whatever situation you have found yourself in today, run to Jesus, He is able to save you and grant you a new beginning.

Prayer

Dear Lord, be my redeemer today in Jesus’Name. Amen.
